Carlo Riva

Principal Architect / Founder

BA (Hons) BArch (Hons) RIBA

The founder of Riva Architects, Carlo has over 30 years of experience in leading a reputable Island design practice, having previously gained architectural experience in the UK, Italy and France. He gained his formal architectural qualifications at the Univeristy of Nottingham and after obtaining his degrees stayed in the East Midlands for two years to gain further experience. The continental experiences have been invaluable in adding some context to the local work environment, while still retaining a clear understanding of just what makes Jersey unique.

Carlo takes great pride in fostering client orientated design solutions and enjoys developing as varied a range of project types as possible. He is passionate about developing new skill sets in the ever-changing construction industry and enjoys leading multi-disciplinary design teams as required by complex modern-day building projects. He very much sees architecture as having a major role in improving the quality of our community life, and readily applies himself to all projects whether small or large, seeing them through to completion and handover.

Carlo enjoys physical challenges and when time allows, is happy to paddle round the many bays we enjoy in Jersey. All matters Italian fascinate him and allow him to improve his command of its language and culture. Family life is where he finds the most pleasure though, as well as all the social get togethers this entails.
