MILLENNIUM TOWN PARK CAFE

ST. HELIER

CONCEPT SCHEME ONLY

2011

COMBINED CAFÉ / REFRESHMENT KIOSK AND PUBLIC TOILET FACILITIES

Intended to be a landmark building within Jersey’s newest public park. A main feature of the brief from the then Transport and Technical Services Department (TTS) was to reduce the building footprint to a minimum thus maximising the park area. The disciplines of vandalism protection and public accessibility had all to be assimilated in this striking piece of architecture. The cafe's external design sought to combine the qualities of structural glazing with laser cut calibrated granite work. The scheme received in-principle planning consent.
