AWARDS

The Park received a National Civic Award in 2015 (Entry submitted by Burns + Nice Landscape Architects)

ST. HELIER

COMPLETED 2011

GARDENER’S STORE, WORKSHOP AND WELFARE FACILITIES, PUBLIC TOILETS AND DISABLED PERSONS FACILITIES (JERSEY’S FIRST CHANGING PLACES WC), JEC SUB-STATION AND WATER FEATURE PUMP ROOM.

Just as sustainability underpins the Millenium Town Park (the venue was ‘reclaimed’ from the St Helier Gas Works which dated back to the 1830’s), so too its service building seeks to step up to its responsibilities. The quiet building incorporates rainwater harvesting, photovoltaics, bat and bird boxes, and maximises passive light and ventilation. All these features have been proactively designed into the architecture of the Utility Building.
