It would be fair to term this project a ‘radical’ make over. Over the years significant visual damage had occurred to the property as discordant extensions had been added. The interior spatial arrangement was as a result very poor. While holistically working with these elements and minimising the extent of the works, both the interior and exterior designs were integrated to form a refurbished dwelling which looked as though it had been designed from new. The replacement of the existing roof structure fundamentally altered the image of the building and introduced new floor area. The dwelling served as a regeneration catalyst to the Pontac Common area.
